FALL 2009
Field trip where students act as scientists while exploring the wetlands ecosystem! This all day trip includes 6 stations and a lunch break! Look forward to this trip in the Fallof 2008! Students have been reviewing for the trip and are REALLY excited to head south!
Fort Delaware – Pea Patch Island
Spring 2010
Students take a ferry to the island and board a trolley. The trolley takes them to the fort where they are greeted by an inmate ready to chat. He begins their tour and introduces them to the general who will bring them into the fort. Once inside, the students sit in a time-period classroom, meet a blacksmith, work a cannon, and independently explore the structure of the fort. Students eat lunch inside the fort and then return via trolley and ferry once more. Students LOVE this trip and enjoy exploring the fort and applying their social studies knowledge in the real world.
